This Modernist style development from the 1960’s was a precursor to today’s town house developments. These small and efficient homes were built in a U formation around a communal garden space and utilised advanced building materials of the day. Whilst architecturally brave and spatially efficient, heat retention and insulation were non existent and heating and plumbing systems were in need of an upgrade. Knaggsie Interiors worked directly with builders to improve insulation, replace gazing with energy efficient glazing systems and opened up the floor plan by removing a wall between kitchen and living space. All new fixtures and fittings were chosen to respect the 60’s aesthetic and the decor was kept neutral to allow the eye to focus on the wonderful green spaces to front and back. This is a wonderful retro property, which has been transformed into a warm home for a professional couple.
